subject matter itself, it is the layering of the colors and the scratching into the surface to reveal what is underneath that keeps me coming back to my studio again and again. Much of my work can be seen as both realistic and abstract. As you approach each piece close enough to notice the layering and and scratching, their more abstract nature is revealed. It is the background and the negative spaces that become more and more interesting.
