I have been living and painting in Santa Barbara for the past 25 years.    Organic forms and studies of botanic life are prevalent in my most recent work.  I am exploring the different compositions of simple plants and trees and the multitude of patterns found in all botanic life.  These organic shapes and patterns are diverse, intriguing, and beautiful.  I am moved by their simplicity and their complexity.  My earthy palette is inspired by these forms and is full of rich greens, blues, yellows, and browns.  I paint with oil and graphite on wood panels so I can scratch, sand, and layer the surface multiple times.  This layering creates a beautiful depth to each painting that I find intriguing.
